Walt Whitman

I've developed a huge fancy for his poetry... I like it as much as I enjoy Baudelaire and Rimbaud. His writing seems so intricating and at the same time connected to pleasure that it makes me think of how to translate the same feeling to my writing.
I'm posting one poem which I find really good:

To A STRANGER

by: Walt Whitman (1819-1892)

PASSING stranger! you do not know how longingly I look upon you,
You must be he I was seeking, or she I was seeking, (it comes to me as of a dream,)
I have somewhere surely lived a life of joy with you,
All is recall'd as we flit by each other, fluid, affectionate, chaste, matured,
You grew up with me, were a boy with me or a girl with me,
I ate with you and slept with you, your body has become not yours only nor left my body mine only,
You give me the pleasure of your eyes, face, flesh, as we pass, you take of my beard, breast, hands, in return,
I am not to speak to you, I am to think of you when I sit alone or wake at night alone,
I am to wait, I do not doubt I am to meet you again,
I am to see to it that I do not lose you.

Some music videos which I like...

Here's a selection of them, being as diverse as possible in movements and periods. Hope you like them as much as I do:)
Interpol- Slow hands
Description: one of the most interesting bands from the NYC scene, especially because of their influences (Joy Division, Wire, early The Cure) and their lyrics.

Yeah yeah yeahs- Y control
Description: yet again, they are also from NYC. But their music is unique... it has influences but they are all combined just as to make something completely radical. Besides, this video is really cool.

Placebo- Teenage angst
Description: Their combination of punk music with some pop and some darkness, makes them an excellent band. Their lyrics are neurotic and full of rage... which is good, especially when you are mad against the world. And I love the fact that in this video there is an intense use of the red colour.

Devo- Whip it
Description: This is a beautiful trap, because it's a really catchy song but when you notice it... you realise it's a song about sadomasoquism. Plus, they were one of the first bands to have an aesthetics supporting their music.

The Police- Synchronicity Part II
Descriptions: well... The Police had great songs but their videos wweren't very good. However, this one is really interesting because it has like an apocalyptical scenery.

New Order- Temptation
Description: this is a recent video, made for a classic song of the band that comes from their early albums. Their seems to be a referece to W. Ryder's stealing incident in the video but it all may be just a coincidence.
