Love will tear us apart- Single covers

Actually, I had forgotten that I had a copy of these beautiful pictures. These are the rejected photgraphs for the cover of Joy Division's "Love will tear us apart" single.
I think they go incredibly well with the feeling that the song produces. The dramatic effect that the photographer was looking for, is well achieved.
Enjoy them... I certainly do.

Card Captor Sakura

Card Captor Sakura started when the Clamp girls decided to create a Manga series of the “Magical girls” genre, which was totally unknown to them.
The script was written by Nanase Okawa and it’s sweeter than the other scripts she has written. The drawings were in charge of Mick Nekoi, who achieve to create simple drawings but full of delicate details. The design of the costumes that the characters wear was in charge of Mokona Appapa. The dresses are pretty and show Appapa’s talent due to the fact that Sakura uses a different costume every time she catches a card.
This shojo was published in Nakayoshi magazine of Kodansha’s editorial, editors of popular Mangas such as Sailor Moon. The publishing started in June 1996 and ended in mid- 2000. The series was compiled in 12 volumes.
The plot starts differently from the Anime version. Sakura has already converted into a Card Captor and has several cards in her power. In the Manga series, there are less card to be captured than in the Anime. However, the main difference between the Manga and the anime series is the absence of Meiling Li, due to the fact that she was created for the TV show.
The plot is divided in two parts. The first part is about the capture of the Clow crads and develops from the first to the sixth volume. The second part is about the transformation of the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards (volumes 7th to 12th).
What is important about Card Captor Sakura is that it has attracted a new audience to the Manga- readers crowd. Plus, the aesthetics of the manga series are still influential for so many other manga books.

Album review- Editors

Editors- The Back Room
Every time a next wave band comes out, both critics and fans try to describe their sound using the "sounds like..." tool. Unfortunately, Editors is target of the "sounds like Joy Division" tag which has become a sort of bag in which people stuff artists whose music is not easy to describe and has an obscure feeling to it. From where I see it, Editors and Joy Division only have in common the fact that their music is very personal. But that's all. So I'm gonna describe this album as if I had never listened to JD in my life (which is something difficult).
Instrumentally speaking, The Back Room is a guitar-driven album which kicks off with frail guitar passages that end up creating a monotony feeling which is only rescued by "Munich", probably the best song in the album. Luckily, the situation is reversed in the second half of the album (since Fingers in the factories) in which the instruments have a different impulse.
Lyricswise, it's a beautiful album from where you look it. In my opinion, is the album of someone going through changes in his life and not someone depressed or broken-hearted. Actually, I think lyrics are what make Editors an interesting band. In general, The Back Room is a pretty good album. I think is one of those albums that you end up liking a lot after several listening sessions.
Fav songs: Munich, Bullets, Fingers in the factories

The solution...

... to cybercafés with female employees listening to Shakira and really pissing me... is some Pixies as to piss them back (hahaha!!):
Pixies- Monkey Gone To Heaven
Siouxsie And The Banshees is one of my favourite bands for so many reasons. First, cause you can't describe their music under one style as they take many elements and combine them. They are a bit goth, a bit punk and bit pop all at the same time.
Plus, they got a really interesting aesthetics going on which I dig a lot. The make-up and the hairdo's are really something.
Taking advantage of what a powerful tool that YouTube.com is (I hope they don't close it soon), I'm gonna post links to some of their videos:
Oh baby- Siouxsie and the banshees:

Another crazy weekend

... spent at Ine's apartment in company of friends having fun. This time was as cool as the last one and filled with bizarre situations.
On Friday, I've arrived at Ine's with Jime. As always, a musical session was involved. This time it was Lords of the new church, Siouxsie and the banshees and Depeche Mode (yes, we kept it among dark wave:). Then, we ate those delicious wraps of cheese that Pinky prepares and set out for Requiem and their 80's music specials. It was so good to be there again dancing to New Order's music in the speakers, talking to people that are crazy and getting all those free drinks!!
Saturday was also cool. My friend Ine and I, dyed our hair purple! Actually, it looks alright and not so purple as I thought it would. Went to Plaza San Martin at midnight and played in the slides and games. Then, we went dancing to Salón Pueyrredon and we had the chance to see Pinky dancing for the first time in public! And it was also nice to see Juan Pedro dancing so carelessly as he is not used to that kind of places. :)
Now, it's time to study and take things seriously though I am really sick with tonsilitis and flu:(. Too bad we can't spend all of our weekends like this.

Epic New Order

Couldn't help posting this... but this in the full version of The Perfect Kiss video (lasts more than 10 minutes). But is one of the best New Order songs and the lyrics are just so not typical.

A really long questionnaire

I saw this questionnaire on another blog and I thought it would be a good idea to answer it as to see how similar I was to the person that answered it originally. I sort of enjoy sociological-psychological experiments.

2. What's your favourite article of clothing? Skirts!! The shorter, the better.
3. Favourite physical feature of the opposite sex? I love the way men smell and how they talk.
